When Your Child is Sick or Injured “After Hours”

It’s Murphy’s Law: Your child is most likely to become sick or injured when your doctor’s office is closed. The good news is that Beaumont has doctors available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help you!

Pediatric After Hours Clinic: Staffed by Beaumont pediatricians, this clinic is available at Royal Oak and Troy Beaumont Hospitals when your pediatrician’s office is closed. Your child will receive high-quality treatment performed by dedicated staff. The staff in the clinic can manage minor illnesses and injuries and you no longer have to wait until “office hours” to treat your child’s illnesses, and it beats a trip to the Emergency Center!

  • Royal Oak hours: Monday – Friday: 6:30 – 10:30 p.m. Weekends and holidays: 1:00 – 10:30 p.m.
  • Troy hours: Monday – Friday: 6:30 – 10:00 p.m. Weekends: 2:30 – 10:00 p.m. Troy has no holiday hours.

Pediatric Emergency Center: The “adult” emergency room can be a scary place for little kids. Hence, Beaumont offers a Pediatric Emergency Center that is always available if your child does not meet criteria for the Pediatric After Hours Clinic. The Pediatric Emergency Center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Dedicated, certified pediatric nurses and technicians staff this unit to ensure the highest quality of care for your child.

You do not need a referral for either the clinic or the Emergency Center. To get to both facilities in Royal Oak, enter through the Emergency Center entrance off of 13 Mile Road and you will be directed from inside the hospital to the proper location.

The key to any illness or injury is to stay calm! Assess the situation, then call 911 for life threatening injuries or call your child’s pediatrician. Your pediatrician is available to you to give advice and referrals if needed. Remember there is no such thing as a “silly” question when it comes to the well being of your child.
