Snow Day Fun

With all the cold and snow we’ve been having, it’s the perfect time to break out your baking skills and cook up some creativity in the kitchen. On a particular snowy afternoon, I enlisted Elise to help make melting snowmen cookies that I had bookmarked from a girlfriend.

Melting Snowmen Cookies

What you need:

Your favorite sugar cookie recipe or sugar cookies from a tube

Vanilla Frosting

Big puff marshmallows

Frosting in little tubes (or using your own in little bags to make pastry bags)

  1. Make your sugar cookies and put them on a rack to cool.
  2. Make your vanilla frosting a little bit runny (See note for a quick, tasty recipe.)
  3. Frost cookies so that the frosting drips over the cookie, it doesn’t have to be perfect. It adds to the charm
  4. Microwave the marshmallows for 15 seconds on high and place marshmallow on frosted cookie before the frosting hardens.
  5. Decorate with colored frosting.

Enjoy with a glass of milk or hot chocolate!

NOTE Here’s my favorite frosting recipe:

4 cups Powdered Sugar

1 stick of butter

Milk for thin/thickness

1 tsp. Vanilla or Almond Extract

Mix in blender for consistency.
