Simple Salads Compliment Holiday BBQs

For me, Memorial Day starts the season of the BBQ. For me there is nothing better than a chargrilled hot dog with Stadium Mustard to complete a summer BBQ. However, you can not just live on hot dogs (or maybe you can, as my two children wish for). So here is a simple, refreshing fruit salad to take a long to your next family BBQ. I promise it will be the hit of the BBQ and goes nicely with a hot dog. Enjoy Memorial Day with your family and friends!
Summer Salad
1 1/2cup fresh blueberries
1 1/2cup fresh strawberries , quartered
1 cup Melon, honeydew, fresh, balls (equal to 10 melon balls)
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
2 tbsp white wine (I use Green Fin from Trader Joe’s. To make it non alcholic, I use sparkling grape juice.)
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp sugar
2 tbs of fresh mint chopped, mint to garnish
  1. Wash berries and pat dry.
  2. Place with melon balls in a clear glass bowl.
  3. Mix the rest of the ingredients and pour over fruit. Refrigerate at least 3 hours before serving.
