What to Serve When Company Comes

We have friends coming over for dinner this weekend and it is always a scramble on what to serve for dinner. I want something that has a wow factor, but is so easy a novice cook can do it.
My friend, Becky, introduced my friends and I to this amazing, but so easy company-ready meal. The first time I had it, I was wowed and vowed to share this recipe plus serve it at every get together we have for the next year. Don’t let the name fool you, the flavors together are amazing!
Serve with some smashed sweet potatoes and fresh green beans and you can call yourself a gourmet cook! Plus you can pop this dish in the oven and sharpen your group game skills while it cooks. Enjoy!
Lemon Cinnamon Chicken
10 pieces chicken (legs and quarters work best)
1/2 C olive oil
1/2 C fresh-squeezed lemon juice
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2-3 tsp oregano
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  1. Put all ingredients except chicken into a large baking dish and mix well, making a marinade.
  2. Once mixed completely, begin adding the chicken one piece at a time, coating each piece completely in the marinade.
  3. Bake, uncovered at 425 for approximately 1 hr or until chicken is no longer pink in center.
  4. Several times during baking, baste the chicken with the marinade in the pan.

What do you make when company is coming?

I don’t even eat meat and this sounds yummy. I’m making this for my hubby and kids. Easy week/work-night meal too!
