Did you know that removing your shoes before entering your house can help keep dirt containing lead and other toxins outside? It’s easy to have a healthy home. The Surgeon General recommends some simple steps you can take to ensure that your home is safe for you and your children.

This downloadable and printable Healthy Home Checklist includes tips for each area of your home — both inside and outside. It also includes a special checklist to protect children as well as an illustration with some key action steps to take in each room.

You can find even more tips by area of your home and information regarding other home safety measures at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website.
